One of the best things about going home is being able to laze around in my most embarrassing pyjamas and watch TV with my dad. While my roommates favor shows like The OC and Laguna Beach, I'm a sucker for sitcoms.
However, I was unable to catch the awesomeness that was apparently last night's episode of How I Met Your Mother. Luckily, Best Week Ever was there to help me recap what I missed. Best Week Ever is a weekly television show on VH1 which goes over what's happened in pop culture in the last week. The Best Week Ever blog is around to save people from being ignorant of pop culture on a day-to-day basis.
Of course, they covered "Robin Sparkles" from How I Met Your Mother, the secret past identity of one of the characters. How could I ever forget Canadian pop sensation Robin Sparkles? How could anyone not remember her 90's hit, "Let's Go to the Mall" which was all aboot...going to the mall! Which included memorable lyrics such as "Gonna rock your body anyway / gonna rock your body 'til Canada Day" and "There's a boy I like / met him at the Food Court / Has hair like Gretsky / and does jumps on his skateboard."
I'm all out and about this stuff! Er, oot and 'boot, sorry. And check out the cameo appearance by the "Prime Minister" himself!
You can watch a better version on the CBS website, via Barney's Blog and clicking the link to "Robin Sparkles." If you have any respect for teen idols, you'll do it. You can also watch the whole episode there (go for it, just for the slap bet gag!) Also, you'll understand why it looks mid-eighties instead of late-90's, when it was filmed. Genius!
Let's go to the mall!

3 raving lunatics:
What is the Best Week Ever blog?
I'm a little confused by your post. You say, "How could I ever forget Canadian pop sensation Robin Sparkles?" -- which makes it sound like you think she was a real pop star. Your comment about the appearance by the Prime Minister makes it sound that way, too.
You do know it was a joke, right?
(I'm pretty sure you do. My point is, the way you've written it, it sounds like you don't get the joke.)
I thought the sarcasm would seep through but apparently it was too subtle. Maybe quotation marks will help.
Sometimes quotation marks make all the difference. Ever read Eats, Shoots, and Leaves?
I got all verklempt when I saw that episode. Still can't get that song out of my head, I love it so much.
