I forgot to add that UbseyMovies, the winners of SJSU's Campus MovieFest, whose movie "Chicken Strip Jeff" also went on to win Turner Classic Movies' Classic Short Film Award at the Bay Area MovieFest Finale, were similarly unacknowledged in The Spartan Daily. Yes, even after the big show during Homecoming Week, which crass comedienne Margaret Cho came to host.
The campus finale was advertised all over school with banners and hand-outs, and yet even now, as I search The Daily's website, I can't find one mention of the outcome, or even a review Cho's act. The Bay Area finale, which had our students competing against other schools such as Berkeley, Stanford, and Sonoma State, was also unmentioned in the paper. Campus MovieFest may not be as big as the SuperBowl, but it is also a national competition for aspiring film makers and deserved at least a little acknowledgment after the bombardment of advertising all over campus at least.
